New beginnings…
Well it looks like the time has come to share with you all the news. After an epic nearly five-year-run, Mason and I have both decided to leave The Golden Gays NYC.
Sometimes the right choice can be the most difficult to make and this couldn’t be more true in this case. It is what’s best for us and in the end that is all that matters in this world…That we do what makes us happy. I can’t begin to express how proud I am of what we created together as a group. We showed up and went all in. We gave 110%. We brought our numerous talents and strengths to the table and even learned some new special skills along the way! We built something that I couldn’t have even dreamed was possible. Our adventures took us all over the country, meeting beloved fans everywhere who keep coming back again and again.
Jason and Gerry what I have learned from you both as performers and entrepreneurs is immeasurable and I will carry those lessons with me forever. Boy, did we have a lot of laughs. I’ll always cherish the ridiculous shenanigans both on and off stage. What memories! Because I knew you, I have been changed for good. Anthony, what didn’t you do?! You are there for us in so many ways it’s hard to count- from directing, to choreographing, to running merchandise, even to throwing blow up dolls across the stage at Rose’s face. And you always did it all with a good heart and the best of intentions. And of course Mason always steering the Musical ship with such class, integrity and challenging us to be our best. Can’t wait to create new projects with you, honey. I have to say the biggest thank to all our friends and fans who have supported us on this incredible journey. The love you have shown us has been one of the most joyous blessings of my life and I will hold in my heart forever.
But don’t fret- GGNYC will continue on, with a new and fabulous Blanche at the helm! I’ll always be grateful to have been the OG slut puppy. Alas, it is time to close this chapter…Which can only mean one thing- new and exciting adventures are certainly on the horizon and I cannot wait for you all to see what the next chapter has in store.
